About our Club

Established in 2013, our club services juniors both local to the Mountain and those in surrounding neighbourhoods including Cunungara and Tamborine Village.

Playing in the Gold Coast region's GCDRU Competition, the Highlanders may have a short history, but we are proud of the community we represent and the budding young athletes we produce.

Having suffered a lack of local competition due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Highlanders are now going through a rejuvenation, with a focus on engaging the community through accessible and affordable sport.

Many new innovations are currently being introduced at the club, with year round activities including the all new GCDRU West 7s competition focused on our local area and neighbouring communities, as well as Get into Rugby and local Touch 7s programs for locals.

Our vision is to provide a safe, family friendly and inclusive place for all of the Mountain's locals, whether they be players, volunteers or visitors.

The Way of the Highlander

Our club is one of respect, mateship and integrity.

All are welcome. All are valued. None are judged.

We support each other in play and in life.

We value the determination to try and commitment to each other more than points on a scoreboard.

Everybody plays. Nobody quits.

We are the Highlanders.

And this is our Mountain.
